Welcome to the website of the League for nurses who have trained or worked at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and its predecessors

The Norfolk and Norwich Old Nurses' League was formed in 1930 with the Countess of Leicester as patron and Mrs. E.O. Jackson, who was Matron of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital from 1926 to 1939, as president. Its objects were to keep former nurses in touch with each other and the Hospital through a journal and an annual reunion.

Membership is open to all registered nurses who trained at the Hospital or who have worked there for a minimum period of three years or more.

In 1984 the League became a registered charity (number 290546,
Charity Commission home page) with the objects of helping members, their spouses, and other dependents that are in a condition of need.

Since 2014 the objectives include the education of the public and nurses about the history of nursing in the Norwich area.

The title of the League has changed a number of times over the years: with the designation of the N&N as a university hospital the League arrived at its current name, the
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Nurses League.

First Trustee meeting for 2026 was held on 6th February.

Full agenda which included some heritage items and even an opportunity to celebrate a special birthday.
